Leadership Matters

The Executive Leadership Academy is designed to optimize human capital and has a proven track record of retaining public education professionals in Nevada and providing a path for career advancement. Graduates have reported a deeper skillset for creative problem-solving, strategic thinking, community building, and the practice of ethical and courageous leadership.

The Teacher Leader Academy recognizes that while good-to-great teachers are skilled in curriculum and instructional methods, many desire to strengthen their skills in strategic problem-solving, advocacy, education policy, utilization of technology and data, and collaboration with community stakeholders.

The Young Leader Academy (YLA) is a professional learning experience designed to expose high school leaders (grades 10-12) with the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to excel in policy analysis, advocacy and leadership development. YLA aims to cultivate a new generation of informed, engaged, empathetic and effective leaders who can address pressing societal issues through informed policy decisions and impactful advocacy within their local community.

The Early Childhood Leadership Academy (ECLA), launched in 2024, is a comprehensive six-week program comprising 60 hours of instruction, with each session lasting 10 hours. This initiative aims to empower early childhood education administrators - who serve children ages six and younger - with the essential skills, knowledge, and strategies necessary for leading and managing effective, equitable, and culturally competent early learning environments. The curriculum focuses on enhancing understanding and practical application in critical areas such as early literacy, learning readiness and family engagement.

Regional Leadership Summits stimulate community-wide engagement with topics that challenge participants to solve problems in creative and strategic ways. Hosted twice each year, once in Northern Nevada and once in Southern Nevada, these summits allow community stakeholders to immerse themselves in new ideas and best practices from both the private and education sectors. Featuring nationally-renowned scholars and practitioners, summit topics have included the No Time to Lose report by the National Conference of State Legislatures on building a world-class education system; and increasing equity and diversity of staff for all students.
